Car design?

I want to be a car designer but im not very good in math. I can't really remember the formulas of how to do the problems but if its like a+b=c I have no problem. I think I have a pretty good understanding of aerodynamics and get how everything works. BTW I love science and at least everything makes sense in that subject! Do I have a chance? I haven't started physics yet.

  1. It's not the formulae that is important. It is knowing how they are applied. If you have problems remembering, use a small notebook and jot down the formula. Then concentrate on the HOW it is applied.

For all the other formula you seldom need, that's why they have reference books. Keep a good reference library.

  2. It depends on what part of the design process you wish to be involved in - some require more mathematical prowress than others.

However, in most design situations, having some mathematical ability is important, even if you're sitting at a CAD system.     You can get better at math through study and tutoring, and that's what I would recommend you do.  It does get easier with practice.
