Car has no A/C...changed compressor and no luck!?

I had the A/C compressor changed out and still no luck. Here are the details,it was making a squealing type noise on and off for about 30-45 min before it stopped at the same time so did the A/C. The intitial compressor still had freon in it so I believe both compressors are working fine. So where is the issue??? There is a digital panel that you adjust the A/C with and which direction you want it to flow and there is a wiring issue there because you have to bang it now and then if the screen goes out. (Just in case that means anything) HELP PLEASE!! I am $250 in this with no answers. This is a 99 Dodge Intrepid

  1. If you changed compressor and recharged the system then I think its the wire problem because you should not have to bang anything so take it to a electric mec now or when you want ac back

  2. If the old compressor burned or froze up, you should have change the dryier and the orfix tube/ or expansion valve

  3. He may have jumpered or "bypassed" the low pressure switch to get the compressor to run if the system was low on refrigerant.  The squealing noise may have been just a loose belt.

If you have to "bang" on something to make it work, you may have a loose electrical connector or connection there.
