Car heater smoking help?

Me and my dad went a test drove a 01 PT and we were just about to by it when we turned the heat on steam/smoke start coming out the vents. Do you know why? my dad though it was the heater core but it was not over heating and he said it smelled like antifreeze. What is it

Well, I reckon your Dad's right. Else a valve or connection is leaking engine coolant on it.
