Im getting my car inspected for the first time next week. I bought it a year ago, brand new. Its a 2007 chevy cobalt. I was just wondering what the normal "problems" are that make you fail inspection? I dont think my car has any issues but Im trying to be prepared incase I have to shell out a bucket of money. My tires look pretty good so I dont think they need replaced. I have 20,000 miles on the car

  1. common things people over look.

    1. wiper blades.  they can be ripped at the ends. only allowed less than an inch of tear.

    2. window tint  you can go as dark as you like in the rear, but not in the driver, passenger windows.

    3. insurance.  before they even consider the car, they will look for an updated insurance card.

    4. check your lights in the rear. especially the little ones for the license plate.

    5. no missing lug nuts, make shure they all match.

    6. if you got tint, and have a banner on the windshield, make shure it's less than 7 inches.

I dont even have to wish you luck, you should be golden.

  2. They just want you're money. Make sure your lights are working. Make sure transmission and all is fine. Make sure the car is decently clean. Everything should be fine.
