  1. When I was 17 years old I got my license.  My parents would not let me be on their insurance, so I got my own.  The reason for them not letting me be on their insurance was because (as of now, im 20 years old) I have since gotten 7 or 8 speeding tickets.  Now, when I got my license my dad gave me my sisters old car and my insurance for a 1990 Geo Prizm was $210.00 a month.  This was only 3 years ago.  Now, for a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro I pay $ 68.00.  But it will go down gradually, even if you have tickets.  Good Luck.

If I were you (and I know how bad you probabley want an 05' Mustang) I would stick with a cheap car until you're 18 years old or so.  You never know what will happen when you are a new driver.  Plus, you're young and if you're anything like me--you dont need a sports car for your first car!

  2. My suggestion, get a more inexpensive non-sports car. That will lower your rates!

  3. you can get $200 a month with state farm. i had a red 06 mustang and i paid $211 a month with state farm. i am 19 yr. old. state farm has the best prices and they are the most loyal insurance company out there!!

choose state farm it will be one of the smartest decisions of your life, and believe me, you won't regret it=]

have a great week and good luck

  4. You can't get your own insurance at 16. So you'll have to go on your parents' policy.

Because insurance rates are different in each state and depend on many factors, the only way to find the cheapest rates for you, your situation, and your state is to shop around and get quotes. Here's an article with more details:

  5. you should go to http://u76.org/qc4 and see the different quotes you can get from multiple companies. its reallly easy to use and got me the best price and i saved about 350 dollars.

  6. you should go to http://vilasta.com/?insurance . You just have to input some information and they do the researching for you in your area basically. i found it easier than going to each insurance company and getting a quote, its all in one place.

  7. learn to understand some principle conception before accept any suggestion is a great idea. Here is great place to start.http://insurance.free-onlinetip.info/ins...

  8. Being under your parents insurance might not be a good idea because if you get into an accident and its your fault, their insurance will go up.

Since you are 16, novice drivers are a high-risk so your insurance will be high regardless, and the fact that you have a sports car makes it even worse.  My insurance was the same as yours when I first started driving, but I'm a late bloomer. I started when I was 22. I'm an Esurance customer.  I started paying $275 for full coverage for my 2002 Taurus.  Every 6 months of not having an accident, my payments were $30 less.  So like after 6 months I paid $245 a month, then another 6 months it was $215 and so on....

Just keep it, and be careful.  Shop around and if you find a cheaper premium, great.

  9. You are a new driver driving a sports car, so your rates are going to be pretty high. I don't know where you live but that rate seems pretty reasonable.A 16 year old is a ticket or accident waiting to happen, so be prepared to pay a pretty penny for insurance.

Have your parent's call their current insurance company and get a quote for how much it will cost to add you. They might want to compare a few quotes from other insurance companies as well.

  10. i would get on my parents insurance and ask them to add you as a driver because you will not be able to get insurance for that price. it just depends on where you live
