  1. i had the same problem when i passed my test last year so i got me hubby to insure the car and put me on as a named driver and its about 200 a year so was alot cheaper can your mum or dad not insure it for you and you be the named driver

  2. what type of car was it for? ive had £800 for a ford ka and ive recently passed.

  3. Hmmmm sounds a little dear - there are a number of factors involved - obviously age and ncd being BIG ones, but yeah postcode is very infuential, as is your occupation surprisingly, so if you work in an office for example, try playing about with different office jobs to see which is the "safest" occupation!

Also, if you know ANYONE who is OLD and has had a licence for a few years - add them on as a "named driver" even if they're NEVER gonna drive it - EVER! the sheer fact that they might drive it for X number of miles a year means that YOU aren't driving it for said miles and therefore the car is less likely to be in an accident!!

Oh, and that reminds me - number of miles a year - keep it as low as you can - if your only gonna be popping round your mates then go for about 8,000 p/a but if your gonna be up n down the M1 five times a week then you cant really!

Get an alarm fitted too if it doesnt have one - the money you save on insurance might cover the cost of alarm!!

oh and btw my insurance at 19 was about £890 - but that was 9 years ago! :)

  4. You can try this company - http://autoinsurance.bebto.com - I personally have their car insurance. As I know it provides cheapest rates for young drivers in UK.

Mine was 1100 per year (just after obtaining driving licence).

  5. For automobile insurance the best way to get a low rate is do a policy comparison on car policies. Make certain that you pick similar options with the same deductibles, auto model, zip code, etc so that all things are an accurate comparison.

What I most often recommend is an online comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have lots of insurers and can give multiple quotes on car insurance polices.

  6. try insure your motor.com i was qouted £1800 fully comp and thay got me it for about £585

  7. £3-00 but that was for an Austin Seven 58 years ago.

  8. when i was 19, you didnt have to have insurance.
