Car insurance for minors?

I currently live in California with my parents, and passed my driving test last week (I'm 16). My parents have Mercury car insurance, and are wondering if I qualify for their Good Student discount. My GPA for the last semester is 3.74 weighted, but only 2.74 unweighted because all of my classes are either AP or Honors status. My GPA for previous semesters has been over 4.0 and 3.0 respectively. Would I qualify for the "Good Student" discount?

  1. You'll have to call Mercury and ask.

  2. For car insurance the quick way to get a low rate is do a rate comparison on auto policies. Make certain that you pick similar options with the same deductibles, car model, zip code, etc so that all things are a good comparison.

What I always recommend is an internet comparison quote at http://www.InsureAutoNow.info since they have big name insurers and can give several quotes on car insurance polices.

  3. You can easily compare how your quotes will change along wth your grades in internet, for example here: http://carinsurance.deep-ice.com

  4. You could try to google it ,here is some direct resource might be helpful.http://car-insurance.online-tips.info/ca...

  5. I used to work for Mercury Insurance. They do offer a "good student" discount. You should have your parents contact their agent. They can explain how the discount works and how much it might be.
