Car insurance groups, whats the price difference?

the car i currently have is a group 5, the car im looking to get is a 12, im currently paying about £550p/y. does anyone know what kind of difference im looking at? am i looking at doubling it becuse its around double the grouping or is itnot going to have that drastic an affect? or is it even worse? iv only ever had the one car so i have nothing to compare it to and i cant just put it in a comparrison site because they want a reg plate.

  4. there is no definative answer as insurance is not done by group alone, there are many different equasions to take into account like the age of the car, and how many no claims you have. the estimated value of the car etc. i used to own a group 18 car which cost less to insure than a group 15 car i used to own. the older a car the more discount you get on insurance

  5. go on go compare .com as long as you know the cars details

    you don not need the reg price depends on car size and type i.e 4x4 ,salon or sports car
