drive it as the breaks needed fixed. It was drivable. But the breaks were in need of replacing. So I didn't drive it. But it needed insured. I called the insurance company and they said to bring the car down so they can see it. I was on my way to do that when a lady didnt stop at the stop light and hit my car. Her car got the worse damage. I told the cop I was on my way to get insurance when this happened. Now any insurance company I call is holding it against me that I drove without insurance. Does anyone know of a cheap insurance company ? Im in Illinois. This is the only ticket or accident I have ever had. Im fighting the ticket. Can anyone help? Serious answers only please! ty

  1. try getting a quote  here http://www.moneysavecenter.com

  2. Did you have any insurance at the time? If you already had insurance then that insurance company should cover you for up to 30 days in some cases. If you didn't have insurance at the time then you should call the insurance company that you was headed to before the accident. They know you was on your way since you just talked to them and they told you to bring the vehicle down. Ask them what your options are since they told you to come down knowing you didn't have coverage. Your luck sure does seem real bad. On your way to get insurance you had a wreck, this sounds like my kind of bad luck. I was going to get my registration sticker in June and I was pulled over two blocks from the tax office and got a ticket. I was able to continue and by my registration, but it did cost me $15 more since I was ticketed. The judge dropped the ticket once I showed him the purchase of the registration sticker and I only had to pay $10 for filing fees. So I kind of know how your luck is going and I hope you are able to beat your ticket(s). See what kind of cheap auto insurance quotes available to you from http://www.nationwidebillrelief.com/auto... They have saved many people money in Chicago and Illinois on auto insurance. The auto insurance company that you was driving to when your accident had happened may have to cover you since they told you to bring the vehicle  You wouldn't have been driving if it wasn't for them in the first place.

  3. There is nothing cheap in Illinois.  Of course you had to have the car towed to a repair shop to have the brakes fixed before driving it, and should have sent pictures to the insurance company before doing something illegal like driving without insurance.  If that did not work then you should have looked at another insurance company since the first one wanted you do break the law.  Since that is a choice you made you insurance for the next 3 - 5 years will be quite a bit.  You can be mad at the insurance company, but you are the only one at faulot here since you were the one that made the choice to do it.  Now you get the great fun of paying a big bill for being irresponsible.

  4. rainedrop61, I suggest you visit a nearby auto insurance agent to assist you. Since I live in California I can't suggest an agent in Illinois, but here is an online resource that can help you. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Auto-Ins...

    Good Luck.

  5. You should be able to find something.  There are companies that will specialize in "high risk" drivers.  This site has some helpful tricks to keep your overall cost down.  Plus there are a series of links to companies you may not have thought to check.
