I've had my current policy 10 months and want to buy a new car now, but if I get a new car before the policy on my current car runs out does that mean i lose the last 10months no claims?

Do I have to wait until its been a full year to buy a new car and keep the last years no claim bonus or is it possible to transfer it over or something? Any help?

  1. A claims-free discount is not applied to the car, it is applied to the policy-holder, which is you.  If you change vehicles mid-term, the base premium is adjusted based on the vehicle difference, and any and all discounts for claims-free, age, loyalty, or any other applied on the original policy are still in effect.
