Car insurance...?

Question

Does anybody know of any cheap companies for car insurance?

I'm 17 and just started learning to drive and my mum wants to put me on her car but so far we've only had stupidly high quotes that we can't afford.

For some reason with quinn the insurance rose dramatically after my 1st year (with no claims as well)

@ nosdda, she's a girl, not a male. It can be much cheaper for females.

There are a few good free on-line services that will provide you with multiple quotes. Being 17 doesn't help but

It depend on other factors such as: location, prexisting medical conditions, type of coverages, etc.

The only way to know for sure is to get quotes.

You will hear endless ads on tv and radio about cheap insurance.  When you fill out the application at that company, you discover that the rates are exactly the same as everyone else---probably even higher because they had to pay for all those ads.  The only thing they are offering is for you to pay your insurance monthly instead of yearly (which appeals to teenagers) but then you find out that you should never choose an insurance company because they allowed you to make monthly payments.  When you have a crash you wish you had chosen the best company....
