  1. In some (USA) states, it's called PIP, in my state it is called "Medical Payments", in some it is  called "med Pay" in others it is  called Medical expense"

  2. PIP (personal injury protection) is the clause that covers your injuries.

  3. Apart from what they already said, If it is the other person's fault then their insurance will pay for all your damages/injuries etc, even psycologic damages.

  4. Medical Payments Coverage  (Med Pay)-- pays for medical bills up to the policy limit (usually 1000 -5000) per person, regardless of fault. It does not pay lost wages or pain and suffering.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP) - also known as "no fault". Not every state has this one. If they do, it is required up to a certain limit. It pays for medical bills and lost wages up to the policy limit. It usually pays 80% of the charge. (if you have Med Pay- that will pay the remaining 20%). It can also have a deductible.

    _______

Bodily Injury Liability (BI) -pays for injuries that you (the driver) cause to others because of your negligence. So if you cause a wreck, BI will pay for your passengers injuries and the injuries of those in the car you hit up to the policy limits.  You can't be liable to yourself. So an at fault driver can not recover under this coverage.
