Question:

Car is making a loud squeaking noise? (Not break pads)?

I drive a 1992 Eagle Talon. Only recently I have noticed the noise. It seems like it only starts doing it after I've been driving for more then 10 minutes or so. The noise really isn't constant, but it does it more then enough for me to worry. The noise is pretty loud, and sounds like it's coming from my rear passenger tire.

I know for a fact that it isn't my brake pads because I checked them this passed weekend. I know I should take it to a mechanic and have them check it out, but I want to know if it maybe something I could do myself first before I spend money.

Thanks for the help.

  1. "92 Talon, Rear Wheel Drive?" Rear Axle Bearings are lubed with Gear Oil, If the Rear End is low or dry, that could be the Problem?

  2. Question is way too vague, when do you hear the noise, driving straight or when braking. Please update and I will be glad to help.

  3. that could be a wheel bearing causing that too happen, have a shop check it first they wont charge nothing for test drive and maybe they can tell you whats causing it to do that, good luck.
