I have a little Nissan 4 cylinder automatic. When I accelerate it kind of bumps into second gear almost fells like I get a quick rush of horse power. after this burst it goes in and out of the other gears just fine. I'm hoping it not the trans but I don't know what else it could be or what to check. maybe spark plugs? or a speed sensor?? I should add to that when coming down from second into first there is no problem. thanks for the help.

  1. what age and model? also how long have you had the car?  i ask that because alot of the time when people have a complaint about the characteristics of their car its because they haven't had it long and its different to their old car, so theres actually nothing wrong with it.

if you know there is a problem all you can really do is make sure the trans oil is at the corretc level and clean.  it won't be spark plugs and i don't think it would be a speed sensor.  i would recommend taking it to a transmission shop-  it will be cheaper in the long run than you throwing parts at it.

  2. it probably needs a fluid and filter change.

  3. its normal dont worry about it they do that so you dont have a problem in wet or winter weather so the wheels dont spin when you take off from a stop
