It sounds like the noise is coming from the front right wheel or the steering shaft because I can feel the sound through the steering wheel - is it urgent do you think ? Because I have to go on a 7hr trip in a few weeks...

  1. It sounds like you have a bad CV joint and or axle assembly.

Also check your struts and mounts after looking at the CV joints.

  2. probably cv joint worn out, especially if dust from dirt roads got in the protective boot.  Bushings can make all sorts of noises when thet get dry and cracked, also, and would be a cheaper repair if that is the only problem.  but worn out CV axles are dangerous, so get it checked by a pro you TRUST

  3. It could be your sway bar links. Better get the front end checked out before your trip. Could possibly be an intermediate steering shaft.

  4. One of three things

    Motor Mounts

    CV Joints

    Front Struts

Yes, get it repaired a.s.a.p...........you wouldn't want your wheel to fall off half way through a 7 hr trip, would you?

  5. --is it urgent do you think ?

    Yeah.

If your CV joint(s) fail you'll really hate yourself for not fixing them before you left if you live.
