how can i find out how much my car was when it was new, is there a website i can use?

Go to used prices, put in your car's details & age & it'll tell you it's current value & how much it was new.

try auto trader, much more realistic than parkers, think they pluck them out of fresh air.

Either Parker's guide or Glass's guide. Just enter the details of your car and it will tell you how much it was worth new, how much you would get if you sold it and how much you would get to trade it in. Also if you pay a price you can tailor it to your car for things like air con, sunroof, metallic paint e.t.c and it will adjust the price accordingly.
