The only way I can see the car getting worse gas milage as you get more miles on the car is if you are not doing the routine maintenance. If it is getting bad gas milage you might want to get a tune-up done.

First thing. Don't waste your money on octane booster or any of the other similar products. All they do is waste your money. Proper scheduled maintenance is what will optimize your mileage and longevity of the vehicle. Keep your tires properly inflated. Don't drive erratically. Regular tune-ups and oil changes, replacing filters,aged belts and hoses will keep your car running right and make sure you don't wind up calling for a tow.

Vinnie half has it with the maintenance part but there is still more at play.  Unless you consider valve jobs routine maintenance then there is one issue, carbon build up in the valves and injectors can kill you gas mileage, and easy way to fix that is put some octane booster or fuel injector cleaner, also other pettily little things exhaust leaks and under inflated tires and so on and what not cause gas mileage to drop and all those come with time and use on a car

There are some additives that work, Lucas is one that is a fail safe, they arnt a waste of money and the guy below me is a d**k
