Car problems, can you help?

Today I was making a turn and suddenly it got really humid and muggy in the car, I thought it might be the A/C so I started fooling around with it and smoke came into the car and it was burning my eyes. Then I started to choke on it, me and all my friends got out of the car to see just how much smoke there really was, we popped the hood and then a colored fluid started to pour out of the car. A mechanic who stopped to help us said it might be the transmission fluid or the power steering fluid, but my car does not have power steering. The car has about 60,000 miles on it and has had a knocking noise everytime I start it. What could this be, is it still safe to drive? Can it be fixed?

  1. Sounds like your car car overheated and sprung a leak in the interior heater.  The knocking noise means something was damaged .Probably expensive.  Go to a mechanic,  but not the one who stopped to help.

  2. Sounds like your engine is blowing. This is very serious and does not sound safe to drive . Take it to a machanic quick.

  3. Before you drive it any more, be sure that you are someone checks all of the fluid levels ,imean the oil the transmission fluid and your power steering pump.most likely if the engine is still starting - up you have'nt hurt the engine yet. The color fluid that your talking about , was it red in color , if so i would think that you have a transmission line that has broken . you said that you don't have power steering on you car,so it can't be a power steering hose,You must have a old car not to have power steering on it .Get those line's checked out asap before you burn your tranny up.
