Car problems 1994 firebird

i have a 94 firebird 6 cylender that dies sometimes and acks like its starving for fuel. could it just need a filter or do i need a new pump or something else???? and i am in las vegas how much do you think it would cost for any of these repairs?? and if your in vegas where should i take it??

  1. i think it is the fuel pump try hitting the gas tank with a bat or a hammer about 3 or 4 times and if it starts then best bet its your fuel pump, it has happened to me and we went through everything but that is what it was,well good luck


  2. get the fuel filter changed first before you do anything else and if that doesn't fix it i would take it to a mechanic and let them see what it's doing, it's possible it's something sensor related and not the fuel pump.

  3. i would change the gas filter first. it could be the filter restricting the flow of fuel.
