ok. so. im almost getting my P's, and i was just wondering about what first car i should get. my parents are very shockingly agreeing to possibly buy me a second hand car for ym 18th, which is WOW. but anyway. i thought maybe a hyandai excel or soemthing along those lines, but apparently the "asian brands" are c**p...so max price is 10 000 bucks i guess. it has to be manual, and i just want one thats reliable, wont breack down and one where the clutch ACTUALLY works and the gears are in good working order lol. any ideas? im from canberra btw.

  1. who ever told you asian brands are c**p they are wrong the top three companies(performance and reliability not sales) are honda then toyota then subaru hey wait there all asian and at the botem are ford chevy and chrysler hey wait there all american. by a honda prelude subaru impreza  honda civic honda accord or a truck a honda crv or toyota rav 4 also acura ( AKA honda) RSX or integra

    my choice an impreza

  2. Hi! Don't get a Hyundai.  I have bad experience.

A very good choice is Honda Fit.

Whateever you buy, becareful because a car bought is an expensive thing.

    See link why not Hyundai...

    Good Luck!

  3. For $10 000 you're going to get yourself a fairly decent car (okay, I assume you're in Australia, mentions Ps...but I could be wrong)

Toyota have some great small cars, Corolla's and Camry. I have a Camry and it's great on fuel, reliable, never breaks down (touch wood) and the clutch in mine is perfect.

Even a little ford laser or a Holden Barina (again, if you're an aussie)

Shop around and don't buy the first car you see!

  4. um...the Asian brands are the best for reliability.  Even the newer Hyundai's are supposed to be good.

  5. i would not be caught in a Hyundai but they are reliable and good on fuel which is probably what you want so you can afford to run it.. also a pulsar might be good for you. or if getting something bigger make sure it has gas on it

  6. You'll probably buy a car that has over 100,000k on the clock, so you want something that can last the distance.  Subaru or Toyota is where I would put my money.  It might be a little older than you orginally thought but build quality is want matters.

Before you buy get it checked out by your auto association, it might look and even drive well but they will find the faults that you can't see.  You  should be able to get a great car for $10K.  Good Luck with getting your P's.
