Question:

Car radiator hose?

i have a leak on my heater pipe its a lot of work getting the pipe out can i just cut away the bit with the hole and replace with a rubber hose.... i can get to the hole very easy.... it already has rubber hoses coming off each end....the rest of the pipe looks good.......... thanks

  1. Probably better to replace it.  Of course, you can always try a patch.  I guess it depends on who is driving the car, and how much inconvenience it will be for them to be broke down if the patch doesn't hold.

  3. Yes. Here's what to do.

    Find a hose that'll go over the tubing rather tightly.

    Since this tubing is under some pressure, get 2 clamps from the hardware store to tighten them down.

    Should be no problem. I did this on my dirt track race car once.

  4. As a temporary fix, sure.  But if it has reached the point of having a hole, keep an eye on it even though it looks good.
