  1. if you are looking for one that would last a while, get a Sony CDX-GT120 Car Stereo (CDX-GT120) they are around 75 bucks with free installation @ circuit city

  2. four your needs you can go to wal-mart and get on for less than $100

  3. Before you look at radios you should know that you will need parts to install a radio that do not come in the box. These parts are specific to your car and will usually cost between $30 and $40 depending on the shop you use. There will also be an installation fee that should be somewhere around $50 to $60.00 for your vehicle.

A decent radio will cost between $80.00 and $200.00. There is a bit of a range there because I don't know enought about you to tell you what the best radio will be for your need. A radio with a clock that can play MP3 encoded discs will run about $100.00 to $120.00. You mentioned not being able to use your cell while driving so you are either in a state that it is illegal to use your phone while driving or you are just a smart person. In either case there are aftermarket radio's that will allow you to integrate your phone ( via Bluetooth ) and use the radio as a "hands-free" device. The reason that I bring this up is not to say that you need it but it is always best to know all of your options.

If this is something that would be of interest to you, either now or in the future then you should look at radios that are capabile of adding these types of interfaces to. Generally the radios will be between $180.00 and $200.00. The interface for Bluetooth connectivity will run around $200.00 as well but it is something that you can do now or later.

I would recomend talking with someone at a local shop that specializes in mobile electronics ( not a chain store ). Someone there can fill you in on what all is possible.

Feel free to email me and I would be glad to help. I don't know if I am local to you but I have been installing these types of systems for a number of years and I can help you narrow down the choices.

If you are having the work done professionally get it done at a shop that specializes in mobile electronics. There is a difference in the quaility of work that you will get and I have been at a number of shops and can tell you first hand there are no "free installs".

  4. If you buy a stereo from circuit city that is over $89 they will install it for free.(Or at least that is how it is at the one in my city.)
