Question:

Car radio--FM not working, AM working. Any ideas??

This weekend, all my FM stations turned to static on my car radio. It's not just a weak signal, they all sound like snow when your TV goes out. The AM stations still work like they used to. My car's antenna is still intact, and it was working one minute and quit the next minute. I'm at a loss. Has this happened to anyone before?

  1. There are two different series of Integrated circuits on printed circuit boards that control Am and FM. You've probably blown a IC or even just a resistor on the board.

If it's woth it, take it to a shop that does repairs. If they don't charge to do an estimate or evena small fee, it might be worth it to get it fixed if its a good radio.

If not, sometimes its just cheaper to have it replaced!
