Car radio /clarion db315 pro audio

Question

i m tring to hook the radio in my car "2003 ford focus" i connected the red to the red black to black yellow to yellow and i put all the speakers to gether which is gray ,purple,green ,white but the radio wont turn on until i put the gray "speaker to the yellow and then you here it turn on so it sounds like something not right or grounded
