  1. Once you have full licence your ok. I assume you are coming over from uk you might do  better if you check out web for prices all major rental companies are here Avis ect also check out dublin tourist authority site

  2. No way. Go by your own car or go with a friend and register as additional driver.......

  3. I know at Hertz you HAVE to have held your full licence for at least 12 months regardless of your age!  You have to be over 25 which you are but the fact that you have held your licence for less than a year is the problem.  You could try local firms?

  4. The big issue in renting a car in Ireland isn't so much the experience as how old you are. Every car rental agency is going to charge you a daily fee that is almost equal to the price of the daily rental of the car if you are under the age of I believe 25. All the big rental companies are there. We booked ours in advance and got the car at the airport.

One word of caution, if you drive a stick-shift car here, don't be brave and try to get one in Ireland, everything is on the other side. The map the car rental place gives you is sacred. Ireland doesn't have lots of expressways like we have here. A lot of the roads are roads that are 2 lanes wide with stone walls on either side. It's a trip, but really the best way to get from town to town.
