my bumper has some dents / dings on it because of freeway debris flying towards my car in highspeed. Will comprehensive insurance cover this? or does it only cover Accident-related repairs?

Can I ask for coverage for non-accident related repairs?

  1. No, comprehensive is things like fire, theft, vandalism, broken glass, falling objects, flood, hitting an animal.

When something hits your car, like road debris (or shopping carts, or a bike, or another car) that's COLLISION.  Each hit is a seperate claim.  So your deductible would likely apply, for each dent.  In other words, the damages for all the claims are going to be under your deductible.

  3. yes

  4. Stone chips and road debris are normal events that happen every time you drive your car. Each chip and dent is considered a seperate loss if you decide to file a claim -- (bad idea). Just suck it up and pay to have it repaired.
