Car safety aspects...

recently i heard that the government i is suggesting for the speed limit on motorways is to be increased from 70mph to 80mph. if they were to really do this and put it into effect..how would the government compare safety aspects?

    modern cars can stop just as well from 80 as they can from 70 (or near enough)

    when the 70mph limit was introduced, cars were not as well designed.

    they did not have antilock brakes or airbags

    i think seat belts were optional!

    i think a lot of people drive at 80 or even more on motorway anyway


  2. This is not in the u.s....If anything they will make a nation wide 55 here..To save on fuel...
