Can anyone recommend a car seat with a harness for a child that weighs 18kg, all the seats I can find you have to remove the harness at 18kg but he won't stay in with just a car seat belt. (he's being assessed for possible autism). We are in UK.

  1. Get a convertable car seat if you can find one. My son weighs 40 lbs and is 46 inches and still uses the 5 point safety harness.

  2. The larger Britax convertibles go up to 65 lbs in a 5-point harness. I love them.

Radian also makes 5-point harness seats that go up to 60 lbs and 80 lbs.

I'm sure you could find either online.

    ETA: 65 lbs = 29.5 kg; 80 lbs = 36.3 kg

  3. here is a site that you can look that has large carseats with harness straps. Unfortunately i am not sure exactly what the weight is in LBS since i cannot figure it out but hopefully that will assist you or bring you  a little closer to finding a carseat that can help./

  4. Everywhere seems to have the boster seats for this weight

maybe emily can tell you the make of her seat??

I think  you should go to Halfords as they have trained employee who may have met this problem before so may be able to give you good advise.  Because they are nationwide, if you get the correct person and leave your phone number they can contact their other branchs

    good luck

  5. go to the hospital in a&e and they should give you one
