Car shipping price?

hi

i need to ship my car from washington d.c to san francisco......what is the best rate i could get and from which company...

any tips for getting a better rate?

Rates are pretty much fixed. They aren't too negotiable. From New York to Orange County, CA, it cost a friend of mine $1600 to ship her Beetle on a truck. To ship it in a container (to prevent scratches and such) it will cost up to $7000.
