Car sound system burn smell?

i have 2x12's kicker cvrs and i get burn smell i open the trunk it was all smoke

  1. dude bring it to a shop b4 u have a fire


  2. Probably got a short circuit. Check all of your wirring, or could be faulty equipment if you have an amp in there. So turn the system on and look in the trunk and try to see where the smoke is coming from. If all else fails take it to a shop

  3. does the system still work? did you hear a buzzing/zapping sound? Make sure you ground your system good. Sandpaper the paint of your grounding point. Make sure your wires are fully insulated and that no stray strands are touching any metal in your car. Especially your connection points.  Your fuses still in tact? (amplifier/12v car radio fuses)

  4. Make sure none of your positive is touching your negative or that your positive is touching the chasis or the car or any other type of metal

  5. If the subs no longer work, then the voice coils are probably fried. Get a recone kit or buy new ones.

  6. you may also want to keep a fire extinguisher handy.

  7. thats obviously a crappy setup job.
