Question:

Car speakers and amps?

Hey, I've got a 200W head unit, with 180W speakers in the front doors, but I'd like to throw in an amp and maybe a sub.

I know I need to match the rms value, but do I have to match it exactly? If I got a 200w amp, would this be worse for the system than an 180W amp?

  1. ok so 1st the numbers you gave were all MAX power ratings NOT RMS. send me the RMS rating of everything and I can get you set up. On a further note: you can over power your speakers within 10% of their power rating and be fine usually. It really depends on what brand they are. So sent me all specs that you have and I can help you out. DUECES!!!!- wowboy05@yahoo.com
