Car starter problems maybe symptoms?

I have a 85 cutlass supreme

v6 231

not sure wat it is i think its the starter

any 1 agrea or suggest

i check fusses one is gone

i but 1 in the pop gone

so hmm electical shot maybe lets see

fuel pumps works still pushing gas

i get a fully charged battery input it in

its not distrubuter and sparks because it works and tested

i was driving and car just stop

can that be the starter if im already driving and it shuts the car down

NO! the starter only rotates the engine until the gas and sparks all get aligned and keep the engine running.

Go find a mechanic, even a bad one should be able to fix your car.

If you're driving and it shuts off, it has nothing to do with the starter. Once it's running, you could unbolt the starter and throw it out and it would still run. Time to look elsewhere.

It might be a electrical problem. The same thing happened to my 96 Blazer. I was driving it and it just shut off. I towed it to a mechanic that specializes in electrical problems. He said it was the wires connected to the distributer.
