Question:

Car starting issues...Battery?

I charged my battery and checked the voltage and while running it was at 14.4 and when I shut off the car it dropped to 12.58 which is normal. When I go to start the car the voltage drops to 10ish as soon as I turn the key over. Every time I want to start my car I need to jump the battery so I try not to shut it off. What are some possibilities?

  1. You need a new battery from the sounds of it, if you can't get one the easiest quick fix is to buy battery acid to top it up that might cure the rapid discharge only if the cells are not damaged.

  2. HI

Sounds like a battery or the starter.. You can get them checked on the car at auto zone or schucks for free.

    good luck
