Car/subway distance from Fukuoka to Osaka?

I'm in Fukuoka and wish to shop in Osaka eventually, and wonder how far away it is and how long it takes to get there by car or subway.

Also, where do you recommend to go for the best malls/shopping in Japan specifically?

It says that Fukuoka and Osaka are 300 KM apart and it will take you almost 4 hours and cost around 5000 yen.

Also: La Foret in Harajuku is amazing.  A considerable range of styles and oddities to satisfy everyone.  Right at the intersection of Takebashi and Meiji, near the Gap.  Get off at Harajuku train station, turn left to cross the road.  Follow the crowds.  ^_^

Osaka is 600km (400miles) away from Fukuoka. It's not distance you can go by car or subway. I think you should take Shinkansen train.
