  1. look at the "stability" of the amplifier, the lower the stability the better

1 ohm stable is better than 2 ohm stable, etc....

if you get a 2 ohm speaker, your amp must be1 or 2 ohm stable...but not 4

if you get a 4 ohm speaker, your amp can be1, 2 or 4 ohm stable...etc

  2. I have never seen 1300Watts 12" speaker. "Paper can handle everything" but i am sure your sub wont (1300W)...

  3. a single 1300watts??? That's alot of watts! it sounds to me that your looking at the MAX and not the RMS, which is what really matters....

anyways, the amp RMS watt value should matchs the subwoofer's (both of my sub and amp are 500watts RMS). If you buy an amp that is more powerful than the sub, it's ok cuz you can turn the gain on the amp down to match the sub (but you need to make sure you wont blow it up!). On the other hand, if you buy an amp that is weaker than the sub, it's simply just not going to sound good!

As far as the ohms... most most Amps (mono-blocks are best for subs) can be connected that you can either get a 4 or 2 ohms out of them. The trick is to get a subwoofer that can handle a 2 ohms input (the lower the ohms the more power you can push through it). Most Subwoofers that can handle a 2 ohms input are a dual-coil speakers that can be connected in verious ways to give you verious ohms handling.

Last word of advice is: note the RMS rating on the amp at verious ohms setting. (example: an amp could be 350watts RMS @ 4 ohms AND 500watts RMS @ 2ohms!)

Bottom line is, it's a matter of matching the watts RMS & Ohms rating of the sub and the amp... brands are just prefrances

    Good luck!
