Question:

Car tires getting stuck to icy curb?

I was just wondering if it is true that if you park your car too close to a curb when it is snowing (we have about 6 inches already) that your cars tires can get stuck to an icy curb. I can't see this being true, but my friend insists that it is

Any truth to this?

  1. i doudt it. keep a spray bottle of ammonia in the trunk in case ya cant get traction, a little spray on the tires and the ice with easy does it on the throttle and you can get enough traction to get moving. its cheap and it works.

  2. Yes............

If you find yourself stuck against the curb and can't back out, a handful of salt behind each drive wheel will get you moving.

  3. It is possible if there is water running down the curb next to your tire. When you park on snow, your tires are hot. They can melt the snow which turns to ice and thus freezes. What I do is park, wait a minute or two (so my tires cool down) and then move forward about 2 inches so I won't get stuck on ice. Good luck and be safe.

  4. you wont get stuck to the curb.  but you could possibly have problems getting out if you can't turn tires when leaving
