Car title/registration and driving.?

So I'm buying a car privately from this woman. Her bank holds the title as she had a loan on it. I was told after my bank sends her bank the money for the car, the title will be mailed to me, where i take it to the RMV, register my car, and the title is sent off to my bank as i will have a loan. My question is, since the title will be sent in the mail, it will probably take a couple of weeks before I get it. two things. 1) Will I be able to drive the car before the title arrives in the mail, or will it have to sit in my driveway till it arrives. 2) If this is the case (i really hope not) is there a way to expedite the process of getting the title?

I personally would never pay for a car until I had the (merchantable) title in my hands.  Since you don't have the title yet, it is not your car.  Park it and wait for the title.
