Car towed due to car not working?

I live in Tallahassee, Florida. So basically I have stopped using my car well over 2 months ago since the car was giving me problems. I started using the bus since it was more convenient for me. Sometimes the car would work and sometimes it wouldn't work. I even put in a new battery. Anyways I recently got a letter from the local towing company saying my car has been towed. I called them up just now and they said that it has been towed and he asked me if the car is working or not. I said sometimes it gives me problems. He said the well they don't want a car that doesn't work on their property. I live in an apartment complex where it's mostly students. Now first off, how would they know if the car works or not? Secondly, i have a decal which I paid for and it is in the front window, do I not have the right to be parked here regardless of whether or not the car works? I paid for freaking parking. He said I have to call back in morning to find out how much it will cost me. Help?

  1. You've been hosed, that's for sure.  The apartment complex simply doesn't respect you or your business enough to treat you right.

The way to beat this, in my opinion, was incredulity.  I guess it's too late for that.  If you admit that you were having car trouble, they'll beat you to death with that.  They'll call you every dirty name in the book, and claim you parked their whole parking lot full of junk cars, and that you're a loser and a low-life. That's the way these little Napoleons work.  Rather than to apologize for mistreating you, they'll blame the whole thing on you.

  2. if u paid to park you should be able to park as long as you want...you should not have told them it doesnt run...they will clame they thought is was abandon...don't know why they didnt ask u
