  1. Your vehicle insurance will extend to the trailer, but you should buy contents, etc insurance separately.  Call your ins. agent

  2. you shouldnt need extra insurance. if youre over 21 and driving over 3 years, you can tow a trailer on a car licence as long the trailer's gross weight is less than the car's unladen weight

  3. Only a separate license is required.

You can insure the trailer for damage if you like under a separate policy.

  4. depends...are you wanting only liability coverage on the trailer or full coverage?  liability extends from the car or truck you are using to pull the trailer.  if you need full coverage on what you are  pulling, then you need to insure separately

  5. Your third party cover will automatically extend for private use to cover any liability the trailer adds while attached. There may be a limit in the policy as to the length of the trailer. Have a look out for that. It will be under the third party liability section.

Depending on the contents of the trailer and what you do with them you may be able to extend your household policy to include the trailer for accidental damage, theft etc when not attached.

  6. I would say yes but the best thing is to check with  your insurer our check your policy but I would say check direct with them. The poblem is, if you do not check and you unfortunatly get involved with an accident whether it is your fault or not, they could say your insurance was invalid.
