Car trouble. I have a 91 dodge shadow. The car "bucks" then dies down then starts going again.

I have a 91 dodge shadow. The car "bucks" then dies down then starts going again. The RPMS are fine for the gears. Could you tell me what it could be? It does it all the time not just in the cold weather.
