Question:

Car turn signal stopped working?

I have a 2001 toyota sienna. Turn signals have stopped working. Non of the light is working. I thought it could be a fuse. I checked the fuses, but I did not see a problem. I find it hard to beleive that all 4 bulbs went bad at the same time. Where else should I look?. Is it possible that one blown bulb could cause such a problem?. Thanks

  1. Check the electrical harness leading up to the lights. It may just be loose.

  2. Maybe its your switch to hit your blinkers.

  3. Try your 4 way flasher switch/emergency flashers.  If they do not work then the flasher unit itself needs to be looked at as possibly being hooped. as that normally will bypass the fusebox(its an emergency unit!)  If that works, then it is in the steering column (flasher lever) which means probably pulling the steering wheel to get to to clean it.

  4. The flasher has failed.

Hard telling where this is located on this vehicle.  As a hint, it is the devise that makes the sound when your turn signal is on.  The sound is the flasher opening and closing the circuit.  If you know where this sound comes from, this will give you a clue.

Sometimes the flasher is located on the fuse box.

  5. change the flashers.you have 1 for the turn signals and 1 for the emergency flashers.

  6. Try the hazard warning light switch. If the indicators work it's the indicator stalk on your steering wheel that's the problem.

  7. Its your flasher, it controls all of them at the same time, it is where the fuses is located usually a square fuse but is a flasher, change it and should work better, also it might be about 10 to 15.00 dollars depends on car or truck, these are also hard to tell if they are blown.
