is there anything the window guides can be lubricated with

  1. You can get Rubber & Nylon Lubricant from Halfords. At a pinch, WD40 will do, but it's messy.


  2. ONLY use a dry silicone or lithium.  WD40 or any other oil based lube will attract dirt and eventually cause other problems.

  3. Might be the rubber seal - mine wasn't securely in place and caused that - it was just a case of putting it round the window correctly.  

  4. at our windscreen fitting workshop we use a dry silicon spray and spray the channels the glass goes up and down in. you can use wd40 but its a little bit greasy.

    also have they had film on that's been removed and the glue is still on the glass. if so remove it with hot soapy water and a non abrasive sponge scourer

  5. Try using vaseline ,,,it might sound urm dodgy but give it a go ,ive heard it does work.

  6. Light grease or a quick spray with WD40

  8. Check they aren't rusted beyond hope first - if they are in good condition I would try WD40
