Question:

Car with strut noise??

Here lately I've noticed that when I drive over bumps like on a gravel road I can hear a thudish sounding noise from the front right tire area. If there is a low spot in the road my front end seems to bound more than it used to. Is it time to change my struts. My car is a 2003 Ford Focus with 112,000 miles on it and I've never replaced any of the strut or shock assemblies.

Thanks,

Casey

  1. sounds like (hurrr) it's time to have them replaced.

  2. yes, take to your favorite mech. do not try yourself unless you have all the special tools..

  3. Casy, Shocks and struts take a real nose dive after 60,000 miles of driving. If you'd like to upgrade without spending any more money than a Ford, Monroe or Gabriel strut or shock, KYB shocks and struts are the way to fly. Truthfully, they will have much more control than the rest your car will feel better than new. Carquest and autopartswarehouse.com has them.
