hi i have an 02' Ford Expedition and last night it wouldn't start when i turned the key, it's done this before awhile ago and i think my dad messed with it again on purpose.. the battery works and everything but it won't crank when i turn the key all the way.. if i turn it halfway the radio and stuff will come on so i know it's not that.. and when i got in it the seat was moved back all the way so i know my dad did somthing to it so i won't drive it... does anyone know what he did to it to make it not work?

thanks.

  1. well, have you played with the tilt steering? lower it and try it, or raise it and try it... try different places with it and see if anything happens

the other question is that you didn't say is, when you turn it all the way, does the lights go out, as if to get ready to start, this normally would happen because of the load being transmitted to the starter.

if the lights stays on the entire time, then the ignition switch could be out of alignment

another thing you can do when you are using the tilt, if it doesn't work the first time, is put pressure on the upper part of the steering wheel and see if that helps you. if so then you can probably get an idea of what it is

  2. He messed with your starter or he unhooked your ignition switch, or took out some fuses.

  3. Disconnected the starter maybe?

  4. He probably disconnected the ignition switch wire from the starter solenoid.

  5. maybe check for a missing fuse
