Ok,i just recently my check engine light when on. After a day or so, it turned off. But later on it came on again, now my issue is that SOMETIMES, as soon as it hit 3500rpm, the car chokes and it wont let me go past it (it does it on all of the gears). So what i did is i pull over and turn my car off and then turn it back on, and it works fine. Then the check engine light goes of after like 10 min of driving. However, the next day, the same thing happens. I drive a manual transmission, 2001 honda civic. The only thing that I really have on there is a after market cold intake that I installed a year ago that never gave me any trouble. my maintenance light (oil change) just came on as well, but I really doubt that is it because that has never happened before. what do you guys think my problem is? please help!

  1. It could be a fuel pump , spark plugs, you might have spilled oil all over the plugs causing you to miss-fire slow acceleration or hesitation.

  2. It is either a sensor or you are having a problem with you rev limiter.

  3. This can be any one of many many problems... But to me....

It Sounds like a major engine problem...get it checked out by a certified mechanic and make sure that he specializes in Honda Engines and products....
