Car wont rev above 3800 at idle or driving

Question

I have a 1995 Taurus SHO. The computer showed a dirty maf and bad bank 1 o2 sensor. I replaced then check engine came back on and car was still missing horribly. I just changed the bank 2 o2 sensor as the computer said. It idles great and drives great untill you hit the gas. At 3800 it acts like its bouncing off the rev limiter. It has new double platinum plugs and just passed DEQ. The car has DLI so there is no distributor. I had bought the car non running. It had only needed a starter to get it going but all the plug chambers were filled with oil so I had to do valve cover gaskets and spark plug chamber seals and after cleaning the maf and replacing both o2 senors and plugs now im stuck with this. Any help would be great!

I would check fuel pressure, if it is low it will not like to gain RPM's quickly, also check for restricted exhaust, cat. or muffler, or crushed pipe.

I'm betting on fuel pressure. This can throw O2 sensor codes, also.

Bad misfires can fill the exhaust with fuel, damaging catalytic converters.  A plugged converter will limit the air able to leave the cylinders to make room for more coming from the intake..  this can be checked with a vacuum gauge...  easiest way to make sure though is to disconnect exhaust at headers and drive(will be very loud). Only drive a short distance or you can burn your valves! but if it revs and accelerates fine disconnected, you know its a restriction in the exhaust

i would check your plugs again plus also make sure your wires are good,you will be able to see them jump or spark in pitch dark and revving motor,have a light source with u also,your catalytic converter may be plugged up also if your maf sensor was bad,makes car run rich and dumps gas into motor and can cause cat to go bad,after u drive it check under car to see if it is a cherry color try some lucas fuel injection cleaner also the one u put in gas tank,will clean out fuel system well
