The other answer is correct, but is 3/8 of a carrot the same as 1 and a half carats. It is same question really.

With diamonds the important thing to know is all other things being equal a 1.5carat is worth much more per carat than a .375 carat.

Unfortunately with diamonds other things are never equal so you need expert guidance.

No, it isn't the same.  A carat is defined as being one-fifth of a gram,

or 200 milligrams (mg).  Thus 1½ carats would be a weight of 300 mg.

where 3/8 carat is only 75 mg.
