  1. d**n do i feel stupid... i just posted the same exact ??? except i havent booked yet... sorry about that... looks like  a great trip!!!

  2. I just got back from a Caravan tour less than a month ago.  It was excellent, but I never got to see Arenal erupt due to clouds.  Day 2 you get most of the late afternoon and evening free in San Jose.  Day 3, 5, 7, 9 are travel packed. Day 4 you get 3 hours in the afternoon unless you pass on the afternoon activities. Day 6 you can stay in La Fortuna and pass on the wildlife cruise (that was awesome) and spend time at the hot springs or zip lining.  Day 8 had the most free time...Manuel Antonio in the am and the afternoon at the pool/beach.

I saw more than I thought I would.  I didn't think I would like Tortuguero, but it was amazing.  I highly suggest taking all the tours, they are all a little different.  The bus travel days can get long, but it is the only way to see CR in such a short time.  Have fun!
