Just wondering the the differences between them all, such as strength, density, price, temperature withstand ability, and other interesting things about them. Thanks!

  1. Density, high to low Steel, Kevlar, Carbon Fiber/Carbon Composite

Strength (tensile) high to low Carbon Fiber, Kevlar, Steel

Cost high to low Carbon Fiber, Kevlar, Steel

Temperature high to low in air Steel, Carbon Fiber, Kevlar

You probably need to define your use of the product to define best material.  Steel is cheap and durable but heavy, kevlar has great tensile strength and low weight but no elastic or flexural and low temp resist, carbon fiber has great tensile and good temp but expensive and no flexural strength, carbon/carbon composite has good flex and tensile, low weight but high cost

I'm familiar with ballistics, best ballistic combination today

Handguns (large, slow round) - Kevlar type stuff mixed wiht carbon fiber

Rifle (large, fast round) - Ceramic front with kevlar/carbon back

Machine Gun (huge, fast) - Ceramic front with kevlar/carbon back

Cannon (huge, explosive, fast) - Lots of steel or depleated uranium
