the bars are wider than my feet so the rear inside of my shoes will

rub on the bars some of the time which have resulted in wear on the bars The bars are bolted in place so can new bars be purchased at some point in time I was thinking about wraping that area of the bars with a protective cover

You should be able to remedy this problem by correctly positioning your cleats on your shoes so your heels cleat the chain stays.
